Starting from scratch – ‘sew’ whether you are a beginner or have not sewed for a few years, this course will take you through the basics.

  • learn how to thread a machine, wind a bobbin
  • basic stitches and hems
  • which needle to use
  • advice on fabrics
  • inserting zips
  • reading and understanding a commercial pattern
  • measuring yourself
  • also helping you to work through a number of small projects from making a simple

cushion cover to

  • sewing a basic skirt / trousers for yourself

Sewing machines are provided but please feel free to bring along your own machine.
